【SMM Analysis: Weekly Update on the LFP Material Market】SMM reported on April 17 that the price of LFP remained largely unchanged this week. On the raw material side, the price of lithium carbonate was basically stable this week. Additionally, the processing fee saw no significant changes this week. On the supply side, material manufacturers maintained stable production this week, with the operating rate similar to that of March. Recent market interactions revealed no significant demand growth expectations for April and May. On the demand side, downstream battery cell manufacturers' demand remained stable, showing a slight increase compared to March, but the growth was relatively small. Regarding price settlements, starting from April, material manufacturers and battery cell manufacturers will renegotiate the processing fee for Q2.

SMM, April 17: LFP prices remained largely unchanged this week. On the raw material side, lithium carbonate prices were basically stable this week. Additionally, processing fees saw no significant changes this week. On the supply side, material manufacturers maintained stable production this week, with operating rates similar to March. In January, national passenger car producers' new energy wholesale estimates reached 900,000 units, up 1% YoY.

According to the latest data from the Passenger Car Association, in December 2025, producers with new energy wholesale sales exceeding 10,000 units accounted for 93% of the total wholesale sales of passenger NEVs that month. Based on preliminary January data, these producers achieved sales of 830,000 units in January. Canada Announces New EV Strategy, to Collaborate with China
